The leader of the Civic Coalition (CC), Elisa Carrió, has launched a harsh criticism against President Javier Milei, accusing him of violating the Constitution of the Nation. In her opinion, presidential expressions must respect the National Constitution, human rights treaties, and laws to maintain the Rule of Law. Carrió emphasized that if the president's actions go against the Constitution, they lack legality and become acts of fact, which goes against the principle established in the Magna Carta.
In an open letter, Carrió highlighted that any act that seeks to violate the National Constitution turns the administration into a de facto government, contrary to the Rule of Law. She also mentioned that the principle of equality before the law prohibits public officials from discriminating on the grounds of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender, religion, political opinions, national or social origin, among other social conditions.
Carrió also expressed her rejection of Milei's speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, labeling it as discriminatory and violent. In this regard, the CC leader expressed her deep concern about the content of the presidential speech and defended the importance of respecting the democratic principles established in the Constitution.
Furthermore, Carrió warned that if actions she considers contrary to the National Constitution continue, she could take the case to court. She referred to the possibility that crimes of treason to the Homeland, abuse of authority, and violation of public office duties are being committed. These accusations seek to generate debate in the political and media spheres, emphasizing the importance of respecting the Rule of Law and constitutional principles in governmental management.
